Gday guys,

Was just wondering if anyone thought compression bandages were any good?

I find if i try and do leg workouts i often dont lift very heavy as my right knee is always in pain :/

This is not good as its not giving me the big quads i desire.

Any tips on not getting knee pain let me know!

Cheers,

Dave

How much weight you usually use for legs (Squats, leg press ....) and tell me how you’re warming up?

Get to a physiotherapist.  Maybe also talk to a trainer about your form.

Some things that I’ve found helped have been:
-foam rolling the legs
-Activating the glutes
-Holding planks
-Holding isometric split squats

Good luck!

Only squating with about 60kgs, and greater than 150kg on the leg press when i feel the knee pain, i generally just do stretching before a leg session, would u recommend maybe doing a run or something to get blood flowing into the muscles more?

No don’t go for a run before.  The impact may keep causing pain.  Your best bet is to do what I recommended above and get to a good physiotherapist.  Some fish oil may also take down the inflammation a bit.  Also, Fast Joint Care+ by Genuine Health is amazing.

If its serious i suggest you to went to the doctor!
60kg squats isn’t serious weight to get injured because of it,,what about leg press, maybe you going down too much!
Maybe the problem is,that your exercise form is not proper,or you’re starting your leg workout without proper warm up.Squats as far as can be useful,so and harmful,You must have 100% great technique, search in youtube. What about Leg Press, you can go down maximum until your knees does not pass from toes.If you’re doing Powerlifting, you warm up should be 20% 12reps,35% 6reps,50% 2reps,75% 2rep from your 1 REP MAX (1RM =weight you’re using X max rep you able to do X 0.033 +  weight you’re using).I do 150kg Squats and 400+ Leg Press without knee bents.

Be sure to push the knees out on squats. Nothing complicated, just try to push them out to activate glutes and hamstrings.

I would recomend some time with hight rep squats and orther leg exercises. I minimum of 12, but also 15-20 rep - that will help strenghten your joints. Be carefull with leg extencions - use a low weight and high rep combined with short brakes. If you do this exercise with heawy weights you put a lot of strain on your joints.

And do you train the back side of your leg? If you have a weakpoint there it could be the cause of your problem. Would recoment you doing straight leg deadlifts and leg curls it you donĀ“t already do them.

And offcourse - do a proper warmup!

I am suffering from Rheumatic Poly Arthritis with terrible pains in my knees, ankles, wrists, palms, left shoulder, neck, and lower back. At one point of time I could not sleep for full one month. I also had slow temperature or fever about for a month. I was put into treatment for Bone Tuberculosis by a doctor which led to complications of both body and mind. But now I am under treatment from an orthopedic surgeon for Rheumatic Poly Arthritis.  am much better than earlier now. But a tragedy occurred when I was very seriously ill since at that time my father had a heart attack and he passed away within two days of the attack. My mother had to face this terrible challenge and adversity of our house with me and my father both ill. It is God’s grace that my mother survived. I am also much better than before.
