There Is No Republican Air or Democratic Air
At the California Economic Summit in Long Beach, I sat down with Governor Newsom to reflect on the legacy of AB 32 and where California's climate leadership goes from here.
There is no Republican air or Democratic air. California belongs to the people, and that is why each governor has a responsibility to build on the work of previous governors. AB 32 is an example of how progress can endure over terms, decades, and opponents.
What makes California special is that we keep moving forward no matter who is in office. We are dramatically changing the way we produce and consume energy, we are creating jobs and innovation, and we are leading the world in this space. That is the legacy of AB 32. Not any one party, but the state itself.
